Update. (I put another hour or so into this, main on the face and rock in the foreground.
I just started this painting of my darling niece tonight. Although I'm not finished, I'm happy with the roughness in the background contrasting. Not sure how far I should take this piece. I think I'm going to lighten up the shadow side of her face under her nose. Any thoughts?

Where do you get your models? I think the model that you used for this painting is the cutest one I have ever seen. You are so talented Tom. We are lucky to be able to call you family.
